    Description

    Description
The Resolution Products RE524X is a universal wireless translation device. This product is designed to convert wireless signals from one manufacturer's frequency to another manufacturer's receiver. It is powered by an included 12VDC power supply with a barrel connector for easy installation.
Each alarm manufacturer is given an RF frequency to use for their wireless sensors. The management of these frequencies is handled by the FCC. Each manufacturer's equipment complies with rules set forth by the FCC for safety, as well as for lack of interference with other electronic devices. Although the 2GIG alarm panels support Honeywell 5800 series sensors out of the box, most alarm systems are incompatible with wireless sensors manufactured by a different company. The RE524X changes that by allowing the sensors of one manufacturer to communicate to the receiver of a different manufacturer. This allows a customer with existing Interlogix or GE sensors, for example, to keep the sensors, but replace their alarm panel with one manufactured by Honeywell, DSC, 2GIG, or Qolsys without having to replace all of the wireless sensors..
Similar to other translator modules this device is not meant to convert signals for life safety devices! Any existing wireless smoke, heat or CO detectors should not be used with this device. Listening modules like the FF345 or the FF319 should also not be used with the RE524X. If you have existing wireless life safety sensors, they should be replaced with ones that are manufactured for the new alarm panel. Encrypted wireless devices are also not supported, including the DSC PowerG sensors, and 2GIG eSeries sensors. The Qolsys S-Line 319.5 sensors can work, but they will operate as non-encrypted devices. Also, Napco wireless sensors use the 319.5 MHz frequency, but the serial number they use is different from most other panels, in that it contains both letters and numbers. For this reason, the RE524X can translate Napco sensor signals to a different panel manufacturer, but cannot translate any other transmitter type to a Napco panel.
